MALLARD hen hand-carved by Gene Ashby in 1990.  Approximately 15" in length. Value $350.00.  Small part of one wing section broken, not very noticeable.

Gene Ashby was a self-taught wood carver.  He had MS and was confined to a wheelchair.  The place he lived in California had a small lake on the property and he would sit by the lake to observe and carve the waterfowl he saw there.
